Ureteroscopy is a minimal invasive treatment of kidney stones and is very popular today. Ureteroscope is a small telescope which is introduced through the urethra into the bladder and then to the ureter. Whenever there is a stone which is stuck in the ureter and is not able to pass through the ureter, ureteroscopy is done. The ureteroscope is passed under spinal or general anesthesia in the operation theater and the procedure takes around 1 - 1.5 hours.Dr. Nagaraj Rao, senior urologist from Bangalore, Karnataka discusses ureteroscopy.
