Foods like broccoli, beans and cabbage should be avoided. Soybean products must also be avoided in case of hypothyroidism. Sesame oil and olive oil can be safely consumed. In the case of hyperthyroidism, there is an increased secretion of thyroid hormones in the body. Loose motion and weight loss are common in this condition. In case of hypothyroidism, brazil nuts and red meats may be consumed to improve the iodine status in the body. In addition to these, regular exercise and consumption of a healthy nutritious diet are crucial for patients.
