Diarrhea treatment proves crucial for children. Diarrhea drugs do more harm than good in children. Viral diarrhea is very common and drugs are not useful here. Main treatment for this includes continued feeding and drinking a lot of water. This helps in preventing dehydration and by giving necessary food, it becomes easier to cure the child. Breastfeeding should also be continued during diarrhea. Extra feed often proves beneficial as children need more nutrition during diarrhea. Drugs are useful only when children suffer from dysentery or pain while passing stool and when there is blood or mucus while passing stools.
