The causes of ovarian cancer are yet unknown, but there are many postulated hypotheses related to this. It is postulated that a woman with one or two children is most likely to develop ovarian cancer.  The other risk factors include the prevalence of lifestyle diseases like PCOD and heredity. In context to symptoms, ovarian cancer is mostly asymptomatic in the earlier stages. This is the reason why most patients come in the delayed stage to seek medical help. However, if the condition can be diagnosed at an earlier stage then it is possible to cure the condition. Further, for prevention, it is necessary that genetic analysis must be carried out for women who have a family history of ovarian cancer. This will help to identify if they are at risk or not.
