Tonsillitis in children is usually attributed to extreme weather conditions. To avoid tonsillitis, children should be encouraged to use masks. This is especially important during the early morning hours and in the evening after 6:30 pm. Precautions for tonsillitis include avoiding packed food items that contain food color and preservatives. One must also reduce the usage of sprays such as deodorants, mosquito repellents and incense sticks. These help in preventing tonsillitis in children.
