Epilepsy occurs as a genetic disorder or acquired injury to the nerve cells of the brain. In children this condition occurs when they are suffering from high fever, and usually in  it does not occur again. In other cases people experience this condition repetitively. The manifestation of brain abnormalities causes epilepsy in such conditions, most common example of such cases is “focal cortical dysplasia”. MRI scans are done to efficiently diagnose epilepsy in such conditions and are therefore treatable.
