Influenza is caused by viruses while pneumonia is caused by bacteria. In either case, if there is a delay in the intake of antibiotics during pneumonia, it can be fatal. Further, post covid, people are most likely to develop pneumonia. This is the outcome of the secondary bacterial infection. In such situations, vaccinations are important and useful for avoiding such complications. People aged 65 and above have immunity like infants. Hence, that itself is a big risk factor for any disease. They need to be extra careful. The immunity goes down as age increases. Hence, it is important to boost their immunity with boosters with the help of other certain vaccines. In conclusion, immunization is a lifesaving method for patients.
