PCOS patients can be classified into two or three types. Some women could face regular periods, while others could experience irregular periods. Further, some PCOS patients could be obese and some lean people. Women experience acne and hair growth on the face, and in some cases, they may not see such symptoms. Women who have obesity and irregular periods are more prone to infertility. Due to obesity and PCOS, they experience hormonal imbalances like male hormones, insulin or issues like diabetes or thyroid. In cases like these, women experience infertility. Lean women also experience similar issues. In cases where patients are having regular periods, the egg may not be fully released or may not be completely healthy. And In cases of irregular periods, eggs are not released every month. Hence causing infertility.  In this video Dr.Duru Shah explains in detail why infertility occurs in PCOS patients.
