Breathlessness is a major symptom seen in all age groups. The severity of breathlessness is closely linked to the disease that is causing the condition. In the case of youngsters, causes of breathlessness may include bronchial asthma. It may also be caused when patients suffer from hypertension, COPD or when they are chronic smokers. It may also occur due to congestive cardiac failure or because of acute exacerbation of bronchial asthma. Management depends on the cause behind this condition.
