In the case of cardiac patients, preoperative assessment is done initially before doing other tests. Premedications are given to the patient and thereafter anesthetic drugs are used to induce him. Following this, the patient is taken to the ventilator where his chest is opened to initiate the cardiac surgery. Thereafter the patient is put on the CP bypass machine and after this, all anticoagulant drugs are reversed. Lastly, he is put in the ICU for further management. These are the diverse steps and procedures followed in case of cardiac anesthesia.
