This landmark achievement was the result of the pioneering work of Dr. Robert Edwards and Dr. Patrick Steptoe. IVF involves combining an egg and sperm outside the body in a laboratory dish, allowing for fertilization to occur. The resulting embryo is then transferred to the uterus. Over the decades, advancements in IVF techniques have improved success rates, offering hope to countless couples struggling with infertility. Dr. P. M.
