Post-surgery care proves highly important for children who have undergone phimosis circumcision surgery. Children may experience edema or swelling at the site of the sutures and there may be oozing from the site. Parents cannot let the child wear normal clothes as this will hurt them. Soft clothes must be used and the child must be made to sit in warm water for two or three minutes twice a day. This will help in reducing swelling and will keep the area clean. No ointments must be used. It usually takes about 7-10 days for the swelling to come down and after this the child may be allowed to wear normal clothes.
