Ovarian cysts are fluid collections within the ovary and ovarian cysts after menopause have become quite common today. In pre-menopause women, these are not risky as they happen before each period cycle then disappear. However, in case of post-menopause women, these cysts may result in cancers. Symptoms include heaviness in lower abdomen, post menopause bleeding, pain and vomiting caused by twisting, constipation and stopping of urination. These ovarian cysts are not very symptomatic and thus regular ultrasound scans are crucial for monitoring ovarian health. It requires minimally invasive surgeries and robotic surgeries have also become common today.
