Roseola is a viral infectious disease that occurs in children below the age of 2 years. The common symptoms of roseola include acute fever which lasts for 3 to 5 days. This is followed by rashes on the child’s body. It most commonly occurs due to human herpes virus Type 6 and in a few cases, Type 7. In a few cases, fibrosis may also occur in patients suffering from roseola. Dr. Ranjit Singh, paediatrician from Punjab, speaks on the symptoms of roseola.
