The wall of the heart can be divided into three parts: the pericardium, the outer layer; the myocardium, the middle layer, and the endocardium, the inner layer. When the inner layers of the heart get infected then it is referred to as bacterial endocarditis. Although it rarely occurs, it is a serious issue if it does. It happens when bacteria in the blood cause infection in the heart. It increases the likelihood of bacteria affecting the heart and is prevalent in heart patients if people have a history of heart problems or have had dental surgery done on them or surgery for tonsillitis. It is more likely in people who have undergone respiratory surgeries like the removal of a foreign object through bronchoscopy, gastrointestinal procedures, or any surgeries involving the urinary tract.
