There are different neurological conditions that are commonly treated by botox. For example, botox treatment may be considered for blepharospasm, in which patients experience continuous twitching of the eyes which also leads to physiological blindness. It is also used for hemifacial spasms where patients have continuous twitching of one half of the face including the eyes and lips. Other conditions treated by botox are post-stroke spasticities and writer’s cramps. Writer’s cramp refers to a condition where the patient faces immense difficulty in holding a pen and even if he is able to hold it, his handwriting is found to have changed drastically and there is severe pain in their forearm muscles.
