Blood pressure monitoring is crucial during pregnancy. When patients arrive after traveling, anxiety may cause a temporary rise in readings. It&#039;s important that the patient is both physically and mentally relaxed before measurement. She should avoid taking any medications at least 30 minutes prior to her check-up. BP should be recorded in a seated position, preferably using the right upper arm, and occasionally both arms for comparison. If the first reading is high, it should be repeated after 5 minutes, and if still elevated, checked again after 4 hours for accurate assessment. <br>Dr. Sneha Bhuyar, Obstetrician &amp; Gynaecologist, is explaining BP measurement during pregnancy.
