The causes of Chorioamnionitis are not clearly known in most cases. If the internal examination is not gentle, membranes can rupture. There is a condition called hydramnios which is the formation of bags of membranes even when the patient is notin labor. During the examination, if the patient is not gentle, it can lead to the accidental rupture of the membrane. If amniocentesis is not done carefully, it can lead to the same. The elongated bag of water, due to its shape, can rupture the membrane.
