Adenomyosis is the presence of endometrium in the uterine region.It involves the thickness of the uterine muscle up to the serosa.Hyperestrogenism is one of the chief causes for adenomyosis. 80% of the cases is usually associated with uterine polyp and endometrial hyperplasia. 50% of the women present with menorrhagia and another 30% with dysmenorrhea and a few others with metrorrhagia.Thus Adenomyosis can be diagnosed by transvaginal scan or by MRI for a higher and better mortality.
